The founders

Two people
from your street.

Vigil Guard is built by two co-founders in Melbourne. We are not investors. We are not a security multinational. We started it because residential security in Australia is sold on fear, priced by postcode, and the help that arrives is too often slow. We think a street that watches out for itself, backed by good technology and real accountability, is a better answer.

Founder · CEO · Product

LT

Luigi Turco.

Founder and CEO. Designer and builder. Runs Maison Turco, a Melbourne studio behind a handful of independent Australian brands. On Vigil Guard he owns the product surface end-to-end: the panic switch, the Lookout flow, the app, the site, the Sentry AI stack, the regulatory path, the business itself.

He's the nominated licensee for Vigil Guard's Victorian Private Security Business Licence. He's enrolled in CPP20218 (Certificate II in Security Operations) as the qualifying credential, with the LRD fit-and-proper check to follow.

The AI panic call sounds calm, structured and Australian because he wrote it line by line with Damian, against published emergency-response guidance.

Co-founder · Operations

D

Damian.

Co-founder, based in Greensborough, Melbourne. On Vigil Guard, Damian leads operations: the operator roster, the vetting workflow, member onboarding, and operator standards. He runs the side of the business members feel the moment they need it.

When the founder line takes a call, that is him. He holds the operational standard every operator and every member interaction is measured against.

Why it exists

The reason.

Across Victoria, the City of Melbourne records the highest crime rate of any council area, and the inner suburbs run well above the state average (Crime Statistics Agency Victoria, year ending December 2025). Even lower-rate suburbs feel the same pattern: opportunistic break-ins, scouted in daylight, gone in minutes. The official response of more patrol cars, more sentencing and more press releases has not bent the curve. See the numbers for your own area on our safety reports.

We are not waiting for it to. Vigil Guard is the version of "what would actually help my street tonight" that we wanted to buy and couldn't. So we are building it. We keep it small, vetted and accountable, operating in Australia, on the streets of Melbourne first, in your suburb when you ask.

How we got here

The timeline.

Honest dates, including the ones still ahead. Where a regulatory clock is running, we say so.

Late 2024

The idea takes shape.

Two people watch residential crime climb across their city, and watch the standard response of more patrol cars and more press releases fail to bend the curve. They start sketching what would actually help a street tonight. The conversation that becomes Vigil Guard happens over the following weeks.

Early 2025

Founding decision. Four pillars locked.

Luigi and Damian agree the shape: Patrol, Panic, Lookout, Sentry. Membership-based. Quiet. Accountable. No alarm-company language, no fear-marketing, no per-postcode price gouging.

Mid 2025

First prototype, panic switch end-to-end.

Lucas AU voice (ElevenLabs), parallel call tree, live GPS, SMS fallback. Built against published Vic Police response guidance, tested against a real four-person contact tree. The first real panic call rings four phones in under six seconds.

Q1 2026

Regulatory filings open.

PSBL application lodged with Luigi as nominated licensee, 8-12 week window. Clock running. Patrol stays gated until that approval lands.

Q2 2026

Sentry beta. Founding cohort opens.

Sentry Phase 1 closed beta with founding-cohort Estate members across Hawthorn, Armadale and Kew. First operator roster forming. Founding seats open at locked-for-life rates.

H2 2026

Public launch. Bayside cluster opens.

Pending PSBL approval. Brighton, Brighton East, Sandringham, Hampton and Beaumaris come online. Sydney scoping begins.

Founder accountability

Promises we hold ourselves to.

If you can show us we've broken one of these, publicly or to your face, we publish the correction within 7 days and credit you a free month. Not a slogan. Just how the founders run the business.

1

We don't claim a postcode we don't actually patrol.

If our marketing shows your suburb as an active patrol zone, there is at least one licensed operator on a rostered route there that week. If you can show the route wasn't run, we credit you a month and fix the claim.

2

We don't claim regulatory approval we don't have.

The panic switch alerts your contacts and your street with your live location. It never dials 000 for you, and we don't pretend it does. Patrols are framed as "begins once licensed", state by state. Sentry is a founding pilot, not a live service. You will not find a date promise on this site that hasn't landed yet.

3

We publish our calibration honestly.

Sentry's AI gets things wrong. Our false-positive rate at Tier-2 and Tier-3 is published quarterly. If we ever stop publishing it, or you can show a number we publish doesn't match the audit log we keep, we credit you a month and re-issue the figures.

4

We don't train AI on your camera footage.

Anthropic's enterprise terms forbid training on customer data, and we have no other ML pipeline. If we ever change this, we tell every member 30 days before, in writing, and you can leave with a full refund of the unused period.

5

We never sell, rent or broker your data.

Not to insurance carriers. Not to data brokers. Not to "trusted partners". Not for analytics, advertising, lead generation, or anything else dressed up in soft language. Your address, contacts, incident log, patrol log, Lookout flags and Sentry summaries stay inside Vigil Guard, used only to keep your home safe. If we ever change this, every member gets 30 days written notice and a full refund on exit, no exceptions, no fine print.

Claim a credit by emailing hello@vigilguard.com.au with subject line "Founder accountability: {which promise}". We respond within 7 business days. This commitment lives in our member agreement §12 (draft v0.1, pending counsel review).
