Who we want
Calm. Licensed. Awake.
We are not hiring guards to stand still. We're hiring drivers who notice things, write a clear log entry, and can explain to a homeowner what they saw in plain English the next morning. Trade backgrounds welcome. Ex-emergency services welcome. Career security professionals very welcome.
The work
What a shift will look like.
Here is how a shift will run once a state licence is approved. Nothing below is operating yet.
Pay & conditions
Paid like skilled work.
The pilot is structured to pay above-award hourly, with a vehicle and fuel provided once a state roster is live. Penalty rates honoured. No cash, no off-the-books, no chasing invoices.
Requirements
What you need on day one.
- Licence
- A current state Private Security Individual Licence (Class 1A Unarmed or the state equivalent). Victoria first, issued by Victoria Police LRD. Visible on shift.
- Qualification
- Certificate II in Security Operations (CPP20218) or higher. We can support the licence application if you have the cert but not yet the card.
- Driver's licence
- Full Victorian driver's licence, clean record last 3 years. Comfortable driving residential streets at low speed for long stretches.
- Working with a clean record
- National Police Check (we run it). Working With Children check helpful but not required for the patrol role.
- Communication
- Plain English log entries. Comfortable knocking on a door at 2am to tell someone their porch light is on a sensor. Calm on the phone.
- Tech
- Smartphone, comfortable using a logging app. We train you on the rest.
The code
What we will never ask you to do.
If you've worked night-shift security and been asked to do things that crossed a line, you know why this matters. Read these once. We mean them.
- N° IOneYou will never impersonate police. Your vehicle is not a divvy van. Your licence ID is visible, never hidden.
- N° IITwoYou will never enter private property without invitation. Never confront a suspected offender, never pursue. We are a deterrent and a witness, not a force.
- N° IIIThreeYou will never carry a weapon on duty. Class 1A Unarmed means unarmed. Anyone who breaks this is off the roster the same night.
- N° IVFourYou will never profile a person. No logging a member's appearance, race, or anything that could be used to profile. Behaviour only. The Lookout rules apply to you too.
- N° VFiveYou will never work past 10 hours. And never drive after one. Fatigue is a safety issue. We staff for it.
Apply
Expression of interest.
We are collecting interest ahead of licence approval in each state. Roles open as each state goes live, Victoria first. Tell us who you are, where you live, where you currently work if anywhere, and what you'd want from this. We read every one. We reply to every applicant, including no.
